Dr. David Verst earned his Medical Degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 1995. Next he pursued an Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Akron General Medical Center from July 1995 through June 2000. Following his Ohio experience he completed a Spine Fellowship at San Francisco Spine Institute focusing on complex spinal diseases affecting the nervous system. Dr. Verst earned his Board Certification by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery specializing in spine surgery in 2003. He has just recently passed all requirements for Board re-certification, which expires in 2024. He was elected as a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic surgeons in 2005. Currently Dr. Verst serves as Chairman of Orthopedic Surgery at St Luke’s Wood River Medical Center.
David has been married to Vicky, his high school sweetheart, for 17 years. They have 6 children with age ranging from 16 to 6. David stays very involved with his children’s activities.
David enjoys skiing, mountain biking, hiking and swimming. He swims for Zenergy Master Swim Team and has competed in several Master National competitions. He also enjoys his horses and animals. David enjoys woodworking when not operating on the spine.
